Dunedin City Council launches MySource Matrix site
Dunedin City Council today launched its new website, running on the MySource Matrix enterprise web content management system.
The launch is the culmination of a successful implementation project, delivered by a project team of Dunedin City Council and Squiz staff.
The project has installed MySource Matrix as the platform on which the Council can run any number of websites and manage all its web content.
The project also delivered the main Council website, www.dunedin.govt.nz. This site provides a fresh new online space for residents to access Council information and services, and makes it much easier to find minutes, agendas and details of Council representatives.
During the implementation project, the Council took the opportunity to re-vamp the site content and introduce new tools such as RSS to keep residents in touch with the latest Council news.
Squiz was responsible for:
- Installation of MySource Matrix in the Dunedin City Council technical environment.
- Implementation services including integration with the Council’s external applications and databases.
- Training for DCC staff in the use of MySource Matrix.
- Support for DCC technical and web teams.
The Council has already announced plans to build on its new platform over the next few months, introducing a range of new features including online payments for selected Council services, additional rss feeds and the ability for members of the community to add their events to the events calendar.
Dunedin is the first New Zealand local council to launch a website running on MySource Matrix, which is widely used by government agencies at all levels in Australia.
